I am a physician and mother of five. I was born and raised in Budapest, where I also started my family. Nearly ten years ago we moved to the United States: first to Boston, and now to New York, where my husband—also a physician—currently works.
Over the years my faith has deepened more and more. Since this is not a very common journey, I began to reflect on it consciously and gather the factors that led me here.
I grew up in a Catholic, intellectual family where the writings of great thinkers were part of our everyday conversations, always approached with a critical mindset. Alongside a faith grounded in rational arguments, I later discovered the world of mysticism. Gradually, I learned how to navigate between these two perspectives which, though often set against each other, in truth complement one another.
Later, conversations and debates with my children—who have certainly been my most critical audience—forced me to rethink the language I had grown accustomed to using. Then in America, I encountered new impulses: the freshness and authenticity of living faith, which opened my eyes to new ways of understanding.
This blog was born as a reflection of all these experiences.
